Bodywork

​

A series of body therapy sessions designed for beginners and professional dancers to increase confidence and reduce stress in both daily and working life through a strategic and coordinated practice based on the recent research of Prof. Amy Cuddy, Feldenkrais and various minimal conscious exercises to work on strength, flexibility and balance of the body and mind.

These sessions will help to promote body awareness  through gently changing habitual patterns and reactions of the dancer in daily life.

​

90 minute sessions are organised in a friendly one to one and non-competitive environment at a sensitive pace suitable and tailored for each individual.

​

Each session begins and ends with a few minutes of observational breath exercise in order to balance and focus the mind. Sessions continue to focus on particular areas of the body and work with typical situations which may need addressing. 


As sessions develop, we work with the joy of walking, improving balance, flexibility through floor-work and poetic movement exercises in order to deepen and understand the language of the body. 

Sessions are communicated in a practical way in order that you can learn to work for yourself and feel the benefit in the challenges that the body presents. As weeks progress you will learn to develop a new and playful relationship with the body.
