
About Ania
Ania is a bodywork instructor originally from Estonia and now based in the UK. She comes from a family of doctors and has a background in the performing arts. She trained in flexibility work with world-renowned contortionist from the Moscow State Circus, Iryna Vaschenko, inventor of the famous ‘Irynas fold’.
She learned ballet with prima ballerina and choreographer of the Odessa Theatre of Opera and Ballet, Ludmila Karpenko, winner of many international competitions.
Ania has also studied the Japanese movement form, Butoh, over 15 years, taught by second generation butoh dance artists Masaki Iwana, Daisike Yoshimoto as well as Moeno Wakamatsu and Flavia Ghisalberti. She is also a Body Mind Centring and Somatic Therapy practitioner, having studied these forms in Estonia, France, Italy Switzerland and the UK.
Ania offers 1-to-1 or small group sessions conducted live outdoors, in your home or via video link. Her clients include actors, performers, circus artists, dancers, gymnasts and musicians, but she teaches all levels, ages, body types. She draws on a variety of disciplines, including contortion, bodywork, somatic therapy, BMC and ballet, to create personalized training plans to improve posture, flexibility, strength, and conditioning.
